VIP Home Solutions has been replacing and repairing roofs throughout the Indianapolis area since 2009. We’re licensed in Marion County (GL1300009), and our estimators are Xactimate trained — the same estimating software insurance adjusters use, which means we can work directly with your insurance company on storm and hail claims rather than leaving you to translate between two different numbers.

We serve homeowners in Indianapolis, Greenwood, Bargersville, Whiteland, Franklin, Southport, Beech Grove, Plainfield, Avon, Brownsburg, Danville, Mooresville, Martinsville, Bloomington, Columbus, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Shelbyville, and Noblesville.

What to Expect

Before your crew arrives, we coordinate a materials drop-off with you directly, usually the week before, so we know where on your property to leave everything without blocking your driveway or garage. On install day, our crew typically arrives by 7:00–7:30 AM. We protect the property first — moving patio furniture and planters out of the way, laying tarps around the home, and setting up protection near any garage doors so falling debris doesn’t cause damage. We also bring a job trailer rather than a dumpster, so you’re not left with a bin sitting in your yard for days.

Most roofs are torn off and replaced in a single day. Larger homes or multi-story jobs can take two to three days. Every member of the crew has a specific job for the day, and the crew is briefed in advance using photos and details about your home’s size and pitch, so nobody shows up unprepared.

One thing that can’t be seen until the old roofing comes off is the wood decking underneath. If we find thin, soft, or rotted decking, we photograph it, show you, and get your approval before replacing it — rather than surprising you with a change order after the fact. On every roof we install, we also put down ice and water shield, a rubber membrane that runs three feet up from the gutter line, around valleys, walls, and chimneys. It isn’t required by code in the Indianapolis area, but we include it standard on every job because it protects against the kind of ice and snow buildup that can work its way under shingles and cause a leak inside the home.

Once the roof is complete, we walk the property with magnetic rollers and magnetic wands to pick up stray nails and metal debris from the lawn and landscaping before we leave.

Storm and Hail Damage

If you’re not sure whether storm damage is worth a claim, start with a local, licensed inspection rather than a traveling storm-damage crew. We’ll walk the roof with you and give you an honest read on whether it rises to the level of a claim. Insurance deductibles have climbed significantly in recent years, and opening a claim for damage near or under your deductible can do more harm than good — too many claims can mean higher premiums or a non-renewal down the road, which often costs more than the repair itself would have.

If the damage does justify a claim, we meet the insurance adjuster at the property at no charge and never ask you to sign anything on the spot. We’ve built relationships with a number of local insurance agents over the years, which often means a claim gets handled more smoothly because there’s already trust in place.

Materials and Warranty

We’re a preferred Owens Corning contractor, the shingle manufacturer we install on most roofs, and that status gives homeowners stronger manufacturer-backed warranty protection if an issue with the shingles themselves ever comes up down the road. Every roofing job we complete also comes with a two-year written labor warranty from VIP.

Frequently Asked

How do I know if I have storm damage worth claiming?

Have a local, licensed contractor inspect the roof and give you an honest assessment. Not every hit from hail or wind rises to the level of a claim, and with deductibles higher than they used to be, it’s worth understanding the real cost before you file.

How long does a roof actually last in this climate?

Most roofs hold up well for 15 to 20 years before homeowners start noticing issues like leaks, shingle deterioration, or problems from inadequate ventilation. That’s generally when it’s worth having a roof inspected, even if nothing looks obviously wrong yet.
